What is questionnaire? Explain. Write down the pre-requisite of a good questionnaire.



A questionnaire is written list of questions which are answered by lot of people in order to provide information for a report or a survey. It is a method of collecting some type of related information from group of people under study or investigation in written manner. The procedure of questionnaire includes formulating the questions, distributing them among mass by e-mail or letter, gathering the response and analyzing the result. This is a cheaper way to collect the information where the people giving answer is unknown. However, it is slow and time consuming way of collecting information. The pre-requisites of a good questionnaire are as follows:-
·         The questions should be few, short, simple and must be easy to reply.
·         The question should meet the education criteria of the respondent.
·         The question should be directly related with the subject and objective of the organization.
·         Different types of technical terms should be avoided and question should be in normal language.
·         The questions should be somehow inter-related with each other so that any type of logical errors can be easily determined and corrected.
·         Only impersonal questions should be included.
·         The question with minimum of writing work should be included.
·         No ambiguous question and open end questions.
·         Multiple choice questions should be focused more.
